There are very important new ECHS updates relating to medical claims of cost of medicines, Emergency contact details of ECHS Central Organisation, and treatment of COVID-related cases at Military Hospitals.
Reimbursement of cost of medicines for ECHS Beneficiaries
A one-time sanction for the purchase of medicines and claim cost of thereof from ECHS was issued till 28 February 2021. However, in view of the increased cases of COVID-19 and restriction on move-in containment zones, to promote social distancing and avoiding unnecessary exposure to ECHS beneficiaries and ECHS Polyclinics, the sanction further extended upto 31 July 2021 vide Central Organisation letter No B/49761/AG/ECHS dated 16 April 2021. The ECHS beneficiaries having life-style/ chronic ailments/diseases on long treatment may purchase medicines lasting till 31 Jul 2021 in one go or month-wise based on the prescription held (prescribed by doctor or Polyclinic/Service Hospital/Empaneled Hospital/Sehat OPD) irrespective of NA or otherwise.
They have also clarified that the ECHS Polyclinics are functional and ECHS beneficiaries also have the option to collect medicines through ECHS Policlinics as per normal practice, instead of purchasing from the market after taking prior appointments from respective OIC Polyclinics.

Treatment of COVID-19 ECHS Beneficiaries at Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore
It has been circulated by Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore that they have been mandated to facilitate treatment of Covid-19 affected ECHS beneficiaries. The facility to be utilized by all ECHS beneficiaries who are facing a lot of inconvenience due to the acute shortage of beds at empaneled hospitals in Bangalore. दवाओं की लागत के चिकित्सा दावों, ईसीएचएस केंद्रीय संगठन के आपातकालीन संपर्क विवरण और सैन्य अस्पतालों में COVID-19 से संबंधित मामलों के उपचार से संबंधित बहुत महत्वपूर्ण नए ईसीएचएस अपडेट हैं।
ईसीएचएस लाभार्थियों के लिए दवाओं की लागत की प्रतिपूर्ति
ईसीएचएस से दवाओं की खरीद और दावे की लागत के लिए एक बार की मंजूरी 28 फरवरी 2021 तक जारी की गई थी। हालांकि, COVID -19 के बढ़ते मामलों और कदम-कदम पर प्रतिबंध क्षेत्रों में प्रतिबंध को देखते हुए, ईसीएचएस लाभार्थियों और ईसीएचएस पॉलीक्लिनिक्स के अनावश्यक जोखिम से बचने के लिए, सामाजिक दूरी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए, ECHS केंद्रीय संगठन पत्र संख्या बी / 49761 / एजी / ईसीएचएस दिनांक 16 अप्रैल 2021 द्वारा मंजूरी 31 जुलाई 2021 तक बढ़ाई गई है । NA या अन्यथा की परवाह किए बिना (डॉक्टर या पॉलीक्लिनिक / सर्विस हॉस्पिटल / एम्पेनलेड हॉस्पिटल / सेहट ओपीडी द्वारा निर्धारित) पर्चे के आधार पर एक बार में या महीने- महीने में 31 जुलाई 2021 तक चलने वाली दवाएं बाजार से खरीद सकते हैं ।
उन्होंने यह भी स्पष्ट किया है कि ईसीएचएस पॉलीक्लिनिक्स सामान्य रूप से चल रही हैं और ईसीएचएस पॉलीक्लिनिक्स के पास भी सामान्य practice के अनुसार ईसीएचएस पॉलीक्लिनिक्स के माध्यम से दवाइयां लेने का भी विकल्प है । इसके लिए संबंधित OIC पॉलीक्लिनिक्स से पूर्व नियुक्तियां लेने के बाद ही वहां जाएँ।
